Mohawk Mine - Mohave County
Where: Cerbet Mountains Outside Kingman Arizona
Travel Conditions: Travel to this location requires a high clearance 4WD vehicle
Operation Dates: Unknown
Description: Not much information is available in my research to date. I did locate an owner of the mine in an article from "The Salt Lake Mining Review" dated March 15, 1919. The short paragraph states "John H. Beauchamp, owner of the Mohawk Mine in the Union Basin district, out from Kingman, Arizona, is said to have plans for mill construction there. The mine is a gold producer.
What you will see today: Today there is a small one room wood building with an old bedframe inside. The ore bin is still present and showing its age alongside the waste dump pile. The mine is a tunnel near the ore bin and building. There may be more workings on the hill above associated with this mine. The elevation of this mine is approximately 4600 feet (1402 meters).
Comments: I have not found much information on this mine. I will update as find more information.
Minerals Mined: Gold, Silver, Iron, Pyrite
